Do I Need an Electrical Permit?
Electrical permits are required for installing, replacing, removing, connecting, disconnecting or repairing electrical work except for replacing fuses, receptacles, switches and utilization equipment of a similar type where the replacement can be made without other modifications to the installation.
Applying for an Electrical Permit
Complete the permit application form, including a detailed description of the project or occupancy to be covered by the permit, project location, names, addresses and phone numbers of the project owner and contractor. Applicant's name and signature are required.
*Note: Most project types require a Master Electrician’s name, certification number and signature, except for a homeowner who is doing their own work on the home in which they reside.
