FAQ: How to Apply

Applying for a permit is as easy as “1, 2, 3” when you use IJD Inspections Ltd. Simply follow the process outlined below, and you’ll be well on your way:

 

1. Check our Service Area page to determine where you need to submit your permit application. Your application will have to go through IJD Inspections Ltd., the Alberta Safety Codes Authority, or your own municipality. We have links and downloads available for all of these forms.

2. If your application is going directly to IJD Inspections Ltd., complete the permit application form necessary and sign where indicated. Ensure that all required fields are completed in order to avoid delays. Please contact us for current rates.

3. Submit your application form (via fax or email), including all required supporting documents, and you will hear from us within 24 business hours. You can also visit our office in person. Visit our Contact Us page to see how to get in touch with us if you have any other questions. If you are paying by credit card, please complete the Credit Card Authorization Form. You’re all done!

 

When we receive your permit application, we will assess the fee and let you know how much it will be before we go ahead with submitting it to the municipality. That way, you know what the cost will be before it’s charged to your card, so there are no surprises.
